You could call it senility but it’s also completely in character: lie, make shit up, and take no responsibility for anything, including and especially things he’s directly done.

[–] [email protected] 37 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That's why I don't like it when people say he's got dementia. Like... No, he's just a liar and a gaslighter. He's always been a liar.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He's all those things and has dementia.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I genuinely think people who say he has dementia are coping to ignore the possibility that someone can be that hypocritical, lie that much, and still face no consequences whatsoever.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Experts have studied his speech patterns and he's clearly going downhill fast.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

........

......

....... Not fucking fast enough

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

The petty theft of the FIFA medals is also a pretty clear sign of dementia. It's classic dementia behavior and it would be overanalyzing to call it anything else.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Yeah, and he is taking the whole country with him.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

His statements here reveal something we probably knew: that he didn’t actually review the candidates and make the appointment decision himself. He just rubber stamped the recommendation he was given. So in his mind, it WAS something someone else did. Of course that’s ignoring his responsibility once he signs on. But that’s Trump for you. Take all credit, distribute all blame.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 days ago

He's totally unqualified to evaluate candidates for this role, he doesn't even know what the federal reserve does and why it's important.

A malignant narcissist never lives in reality anyway, this just becomes more apparent with age.

EDIT:

Well, the first half of that isn't totally true, if they can grow a sufficient cult of personality, turn a good chunk of the world into a sycophantic hugbox for them.

These usually collapse as they go truly senile or incredibly delusional... or they functionally become the figurehead of a persistent cult or religion.

I mean, there are literally dozens of people he hired and praised as geniuses, and then fired and labelled idiots.

Wel if he is mad at them, they must've done something good

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 days ago

He is consistent, like all conservatives, in that he believes and says whatever he perceives to be beneficial to him that that exact moment.

[–] [email protected] 44 points 2 days ago

He was genuinely surprised. Nobody knows what Trump will do next. Not even Trump.

[–] [email protected] 66 points 2 days ago (3 children)

No it can't be dementia just because he's been showing signs of it for so long.

I think you underestimate how stupid he is.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 days ago

We also underestimate how stupid those that voted for him are.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago
[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

It's a bit of both, I believe the man himself is more invested in his own vanity than the white nationalist agenda. However, don't underestimate the people around him. They are evil not stupid.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It can be both, but he’s been stupid for a long time.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

He’s been demented a long time too.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Maybe it's Maybelline?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

he's immune to dementia, normal trump and mental decline trump identical

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Not so - look at an interview from even as late as 2015. He's pretty coherent.

Still stupid, obvs., but coherent.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

well, he has always been an ignorant fool

[–] [email protected] 49 points 2 days ago

Chocolate all over his face

I have no idea what has happened to the birthday cake; I’m just as surprised as you!

[–] [email protected] 20 points 2 days ago

It’s not dementia, he’s just a malignant narcissist who was born wealthy combined with good old fashioned stupid old person.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Is it mental decline?

Guy has more business failures (including casinos) than I have socks. Not pairs of socks. Just socks in general. And I have a whole drawer of them. And what? 5 or 6 bankruptcies.

I think he's always been a fucking idiot.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago

Are you saying you have 5-6 socks in total? Look at Mr. Richie Rich over here!

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 days ago (2 children)

To be fair, the context of that second panel was Biden re-appointing him.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Doesn't sound like that, it sounds like he meant originally. Why are people sticking up for him? He should defend himself.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

I'm not defending him, but all the articles saying he forgot he's the one who appointed him and only giving that quote are disingenuous. The full quote is: “He’s a terrible Fed chair. I was surprised he was appointed. I was surprised, frankly, that Biden put him in and extended him. But they did.” It still doesn't make sense anyway.

Because there are plenty of real life or death issues Trump is squarely on the wrong side of and can and should be attacked on.

Deconstructing and attacking every bit of verbal diarrhea that dribbles out of his fat fucking mouth is a waste of time and accomplishes nothing.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Because there are plenty of real life or death issues Trump is squarely on the wrong side of and can and should be attacked on.

so instaed, Muricans excuse trump like this, repeat to themselves "we are not there yet", and bravely sit down again

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Not sure if I need to learn to write more clearly, or you need to learn to read.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

no, I think we are on the same page even if we disagree

You say criticising the smaller stuff is a waste of time... I think that is just an excuse to wait for the bigger stuff but most just keep moving that goal post until it's too late for criticism to have any effect

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

I completely and wholeheartedly disagree.
Whatever he does wrong -which is basically everything-, whether it is big or small, should be attacked and questioned whenever and wherever possible.
He's fond of using the word witch-hunt and he should be hunted down like the 'witches' of times past.

If that was the last president or Obama making a similar mistake the media would be yelling from the rooftops about being fit to lead but because it's Fatboy Tangerine it's ok. NO, fuck that bullshit. Don't let him get away with anything. No matter how little.

The reason he gets away with the big shit he pulls is because he has never had consequences for the small stuff. He should never be forgiven nor let off, not one little bit. Letting him off this goof just because he's a convicted rapist is not the way to go about things, especially when it's dementia ridden narcissists like him.

What should happen is pulling him up on everything and hounding him about everything until his decrepit excuse for a heart explodes.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

Why would it be fair to be totally clueless as to why someone reappointed the person you appointed in the first place?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Nothing wrong with his brain, amirite?
