I like to be aware of cool games that I might like in Early Access. I also pass up on them until they finish.

It's possible to be dismayed at price raises that don't affect you, because it will affect others. I was never in the market for a console and do not anticipate buying new electronics anytime soon, but I am sure that this will sadden others who find themselves priced out. Besides, I don't know what the future holds. Maybe an existing electronic of mine breaks and I find I need a replacement, so the price hikes will touch me.

On this post I made for Node Math, another numbers factory game, I said I should probably post Beltmatic someday. Today is that day!

Ignore the shovelware look of the thumbnail, the graphics are actually really nice!

I've never had trouble with or resented touch screen D-pads ^^; again I am part of the problem I suppose, because it seems by your post that most people hate the things I'm genuinely satisfied with. I hope the general controller-liking population gets things to serve their needs too, though. Thanks for providing the information for what I'm assuming is the majority.

Surprisingly no! I have heard of the franchise but never actually touched it myself.

Did not know Tillamook was employee-owned. Their ice cream is great, now I have a reason to prioritize buying from them.

Bonus points if you can outlevel the current encounters by grinding enough, and for turn-based games.

Mods, feel free to nuke this if this is off-topic. I think it is on-topic because the sidebar says puzzle games are fine, I do not know a dedicated community for puzzle games, and because the game has the Adventure tag on Steam, but I can see how "puzzle platformer" might be pushing it a bit. Figured I'd give it a shot, and if I'm wrong the worst that can happen is a mod has to remove my post or maybe people downvote.

Given the big swathe of posts about bad behavior from big companies, I figure we could counterbalance that with some positivity about stuff the smaller guys made that often costs us less too.

In Early Access and has a demo

Meant to replace r/gamingsuggestions in spirit. Noticed [email protected] getting a decent amount of posts asking for gaming suggestions, figured having a dedicated community for them might be nice. (And if not, I can still collect and link to those posts for anyone wanting Lemmy-sourced game recommendations!)

I also mod [email protected], and there I maintain a list of fictional works about bunnies, with a video game section. I have pasted the list as it is now. If you're reading this in the future, it's likely some new games have been added to the linked list that aren't on the pasted version here.

List will update as I learn about more tools. Feel free to recommend some in the comments!

  • https://steampeek.hu/, intended for indie game discovery. Allows filtering by date, Steam tags, game release status; and searching for games like other games.
  • https://abletoplay.com/, intended to help gamers with accessibility needs find games that match them

Although this is a community for finding suggestions and not a video game deals community, you might want to know about https://isthereanydeal.com/ and https://www.dekudeals.com/ for tracking sales.

Right now, all the posts are from [email protected] from before this community was made. This list is not exhaustive; I stopped trawling the [email protected] history at around the 3 month mark. Will update with more if I see them. Some things here might not have started as "give me suggestions", like my own post "What is your favorite indie game?" (which is also why I did not initially post it here instead) but considering the replies turned out to be a list of games fitting the parameters set in the title just like a "give me suggestions" post I figured I'd include posts not intended to be suggestion seeking but that could practically be used for it based on their comment section full of games and nothing else too.
