I'm finishing up my mostly vanilla 2.21 playthrough and am looking for input on the makeshift new game+ mod list I'm compiling for myself for the jump to 2.3. I'm already using a handful of the popular QoL tweaks/fixes like LHUD, Muted Markers, Quickhack Fixes, the immersive vendor suite, etc. so this is more about the major gameplay-impacting mods. I'm also planning to increase the difficulty from "hard" to "very hard", though that'll depend on the final mod choices.
My criteria has been that it: is appropriately NG+ challenging without being a miserable slog (i.e. fresh enemy tactics opposed to bulletsponge hordes with nukes), is fairly polished with minimal mod jank, doesn't break story/quests/performance, doesn't get too bogged down in "realism", and isn't "guns/cars/memes in skyrim"-tier silliness. The goal is to sensibly expand on what Cyberpunk 2077 is rather than completely overhaul it. Quality over quantity is the name of the game here, so the gigantic nexus collections aren't an option.
Does my list seem to fit the bill? Am I missing any major must-haves? Are there any known compatibility/etc. issues with them (the nexus pages don't really definitively say one way or another on most)? Any suggestions for additions/removals or specific mod settings?
Planned major additions:
- New Game Plus - sounds like I'll need to tone down the random encounter settings
- New Lifepath Intro - Fresh Start - only added because of NGP's forced skipping of the intros
- Enemies of Night City
- Dark Future - Urban Survival Gameplay
- SynthDose - More Drugs
- EconomyPunk
- Neuralware - Chipware Expansion
- NIGHT CITY ALIVE - the "low" or "standard" version
- They Will Remember - not sure on this one... might be overkill with everything else. If I do I'll likely also use the inventory/wardrobe-related mods it recommends for the disguise mechanic.
