Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is remembered for many reasons, but perhaps best of all for its Nemesis system, an incredible mechanic for generating memorable Orc encounters. According to a former executive, the Nemesis system came about from trying to solve a different problem: secondhand sales.

In a new video, Laura Fryer — former vice president of WB Games who oversaw the publisher's Seattle studios at the time — talked about her time with Monolith. While discussing the way trend-chasing affects the industry, Fryer mentioned that chasing trends is what "literally led to the Nemesis system."

The second philosophy is taking inspiration from 90s game development to ensure the scope is manageable. "We want to get back to the PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 era," said Liang, "when the games were not so big, the budgets not sky high, the team manageable, and all the developers were passionate and creative and with experience. It's like a bigger indie game, but with budget and with experience and with a stable hand, and everything feels so integrated from the starting point when you press down the Start button to the finish point of the staff list."

Earlier this year, when Activision first announced the remake collection, it also announced a list of skaters planned to be featured in the game. This list included every classic skater originally featured in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4, except one – Bam Margera, known for his roles in Jackass, Viva La Bam and the Tony Hawk series, was seemingly missing.

Now, during a live stream on The Live Club skating podcast, it’s been claimed that Bam was added to the game at the last minute after Hawk demanded he be included.

I spent a week of my life doing this so you don't have to. Today we're gonna try and use the OneCore API to run modern games on Windows XP! Will anything work? Or will I spend over a hour troubleshooting a bunch of problems?

Featuring: CLI Epic Games client lolol

50% of mobile players have now received a reward with real monetary value from a smartphone game. Meanwhile, 72% of that group say real-world rewards are now "important" when it comes to them selecting a new mobile game to download.

That’s according to the second part of Almedia's Rewarded Returns report conducted by Atomik Research, which surveyed over 2,000 mobile players across the US and UK.

The reward-based UA approach seeks to acquire, engage, and retain more players by placing a rewards campaign over an existing game.

As such, a player might receive cash, Amazon credit, or payouts of other currencies of real-world value for reaching particular stages or achieving certain tasks within a game.
