Hi, all,

I just want to say firstly that I don't mean this in a combative or aggressive way. I just wanted to put out here that we as Aussies are generally very proud of our wilderness.

But let's try to be a bit more respectful of our forests. If we are going to go out and enjoy the bush, especially on long weekends, please practice leaving no trace and taking your rubbish with you. Remember, our wildlife relies on these places that we take for granted. People work and volunteer on their own time to keep these places safe, clean and healthy.

Remember, we all come from nature and we rely on her as much as she relies on us.

Thankyou and I hope you all have a great long weekend!

Today is World Oceans Day. Myself, Shayne McGregor and Jas Chambers put together a 5 minute read on why the Ocean is so critical to all of us - now moreso than ever - even if we don’t realise it. As we say, Earth is a misnomer - our planet is actually covered by more than 70% sea water. Planet Ocean. Feedback welcome!

For heaven's sake, check your superannuation funds and move to a more conservative portfolio. Any shares being held in US companies could be taxed within the US at 20%. It's your money. Do you want Trump to steal it?

And if you hold shares in US companies ... get out before it's too late!

Hi

I was looking for ball pen refills today and google came up with a few weird online shops with extremely high prices like outfitocean or dingoship and a few other ones. They are all selling office supplies and claim they’re Australian companies. There websites use the same design only the colours are different. What sort of scam is this? I mean who with a clear mind pays 126 dollars for 5 ball pen refills or 96 dollars for 3 sharpies or 100 dollars for 3 plastic rulers? Does anyone know what’s behind this?

Our article on the importance to Australia of national climate risk assessments done well. And hence why we must legislate to ensure timely updates and independence. (Your feedback is very welcome)

My intention is this is a PSA after the terrible experience I had with Menulog.

I’m in Melbourne on holiday (I live regionally so don’t use Menulog anymore but did for years when I lived in the city.)

Was having dinner at our accommodation with my in laws (baby sleeping so we can’t go out). Spend $100 on Thai food. Order blows out from 30 minutes to 90 and then says it was delivered but wasn’t. My husband was standing on the street the whole time. I can see on the app the courier is on the other side of the road. Bummer on our evening, everyone is getting hangry- mostly me.

Menulog claims they will not refund because 1)app says order was delivered and 2)my order history shows I have made previous claims like this. (From memory I did once in years of using the app) I can’t see my order history.

Three emails/chat function within Menulog and they insist they cannot refund and cite the above reasons. I responded by asking for evidence of delivery, either a photograph or description of where the food was delivered and to whom and my order history including total number of orders I’ve made without incident and claims with details. This will inform my complaint with the ACCC- I said no response for 48 hours will be confirmation of their refusal to supply that information. I also said I will not accept a voucher as I won’t use their platform again after this experience.

Boom, next email a few hours later and they will refund. Don’t let them get away with it if this happens to you!

Anyone else a bit angry at this decision? They did him so dirty and no explanation.
