Every other post on “regular/ mainstream” sub-Reddits is about sex and tagged NSFW. Porn is getting weirder and weirder. Taboo subjects like incest, extremely rough sex etc are now the norm, and people who aren’t into them are called “vanilla”. It’s so incredibly strange hearing my younger cousins talking about “vanilla porn” when they’re literally in high school. Everything is so strange. I’m in my 20s, but things have changed drastically since I’ve been in high school. I’m just wondering what your thoughts are on this subject. Why has everything become hyper-sexualized?

Last month, I realized that my life was sedentary af, so I decided to change it a bit. I added a great morning routine with 15-30 minutes of exercise; I also added sets of 10 pushups at several hours of the day. However, even with that, I am still sitting the rest of the time. I don't have interest in sports and hate social life (not introvert but still), but those things are not always daily either. So why is it difficult to escape a sedentary lifestyle?

People always ask me to repeat myself. And then I have to feel like expending lots of effort to say it again at a volume they can hear.

Also when I say it at a volume too low the first time, it feels like it should be loud enough but apparently it isn't.

I do have a history of intense SAD as well. But I've made leaps and bounds regarding that.

My name is Kyle, and I would go into a liquor store twice a week go get my favorite drink. (Twisted teas) there was a cashier who seemed very friendly, she also works with me in a hospital but way different department. So we would talk about the hospital whenever I would go to her tilt. We laughed a few times, she knew my name and I knew her name.

One day I added her on Facebook but she never accepted my request. Friend request is still pending. Today I saw her at the liquor store for the first time in a month, I felt kind of awkward but she didn't even look at me. The liquor store was so busy that I had to go to another tilt.

Even when I walked in she kind of looked away, does she find me awkward or weird now?????? Or is it in my head?

From what I can tell, this just looks like a photo of him looking uncomfortable against a wall.

Isn't he supposed to have a sign that says his name, as well as his height shown by the wall behind him?

Power puff girls, totally spies, all the girl central shows as a kid either went over my head or just went over my head (i wasn’t that impressionable as a kid). Now suddenly if there were ever a show about “girl power” it’s full of people complaining about it…..but about what? I don’t get why women as a subject matter feels so “pushy” in itself. Is it because women are being taking a little more seriously now and those against that are fighting louder? Was it always like this? Did the message of “girl power” actually change so now it Is “agenda”? I don’t see how it feels people are so against it now when I could count how many of my saturday morning cartoons had it splattered and no one was this up and arms about it all

Someone asked if i kissed my hookups during sex and the answer was no and they thought that was odd. I just can’t be passionate to people who don’t give a fuck about me and it just doesn’t feel good to hookup , or just be used for my body. So, i just stopped hooking up and it’s been a long time since i stopped. The people around me/who im friends with are into that and just treat it like whatever and suggest i just have fun. I just hate it plus it’s really hard to find someone that actually what’s to settle down. This post is intended to judge anyone either.. I just don’t feel like i’m normal.

i’m female and 23 by the way for context.

My mother and I were talking about exercising and health in general. I have always been very active and try to keep my body and mind healthy. I care for my mom and it's upsetting seeing her only drink soda, not eat the healthiest, and rarely exercise. Amidst the discussion I called her overweight and that she has to change her work ethic and dietary discipline to live a long healthy life. She (and the rest of my family) say that I am rude and inconsiderate. I believe that I didn't say anything objectively mean. I certainly didn't have any foul intentions behind it. "Overweight" is a literal medical term but I guess since society has put a bad connotation on it she became offended. She got very angry with me and my lack of consideration and has advised me to just be quiet about it. It's a bit discouraging seeing your mother lose her body and increase her chances of an early death.

I was wanting some outside perspectives on what my actions moving forward should look like.

I feel like I’m a little too old to be asking but I was marinating chicken and every time I am handling raw meat I literally act like it’s anthrax but not sure if it’s completely necessary but something I’ve always done. I always wonder does the cutting board need to be washed separately and does the sponge need to be tossed? Oh so many questions….

Never had it before. Visually it’s always thrown me off even though I’m not a picky eater at all. What is the texture like with the lumps? Are they solid and you bite into it almost like a curd of feta?

My mom stepped on a rusty nail and had to run to our little towns clinic. Everything went fine, and she paid $150 for the shot and 10 Minute visit, but now they are sending her another bill for $32 as a “administration fee”. Meaning that the total price is somewhere around $180. Which seems a little on the high end for just a tented shot and no other shots, when she was there all of 10 minutes.

Is this a fair price, or is my mom getting ripped off?

So I had a girlfriend over to swim at my parents house a few times. We were raised pretty conservative and she was pretty modest most of the time. Well she asked if she could wear a bikini and I was super excited because she has a voluptuous figure and large breasts. I said yeah and wow she was hot! Anyway she didn’t really adjust it very much while she swam so she was showing more and more cleavage. She also mentioned that it was smaller than she wanted. So after a bit of swimming/flirting/cuddling, I noticed to my amazement her nipple had slipped out. A minute or two passes and the other one came out as well. I was in heaven for a moment and didn’t want it end. We swam for a little bit more before she realized and fixed her top. So my question is wouldn’t her nipples be sensitive enough to feel them pop out? Was it maybe on purpose? She also either didn’t notice me staring or didn’t care to say anything

My mom and I were driving down our narrow two lane road on the way home, when a dump truck came around the corner doing 50-60 in a 40 zone, and he almost tipped over. He came a little bit in our lane, almost hit us head on, and the truck wobbled back, and forth so I knew he had almost tipped over. Later on my mom whent back to town, and this same guy was behind her going really fast. She got the license plate, and sent it to me, so I called the non emergency number, and told them what happned and gave them the plate number. I felt like it was the right think to do because this guy could end up killing someone. What do you think?

So me and my friend group went out drinking today and we had a good time but my closest friend got way too drunk - I followed them home and am going to sleep over at their place. They're currently on the floor sleeping, they're on their side with a plastic bag under their face/mouth (that they've thrown up a little bit in). I tried to bring them to their bed but they absolutely insisted on sleeping on the floor (yes they're on their side) I've given them water as well previously.

I'm monitoring them now and they seem to be in a deep sleep, and thankfully they're breathing normally. But I'm just a little concerned still, if theres anything else I should do for them. Should I remove the plastic bag (considering theres vomit in it) or should I keep it there in case they puke more?

Its 11 pm where we are rn - I'm thinking of staying awake for a few more hours just to make sure they're breathing. Idk im just freaking out a liiittle bit cause they mean alot to me and yeah

I'm 25M 5'8" 140lbs. Good BMI and I look like an average dude. Yet when I'm at work (customer service) I have obese, old ladies tell me I'm too skinny and need to gain weight. Yet if the roles were reversed and I told them they needed to lose weight, the obese person would take much offense to my comment. Why are people like this?

My landlord opened the washing machine to "make sure I'm doing laundry right"

I'm one of the only people sharing the apt who've cleaned the bathroom, regularly does the trash, and cleans after cooking (I've had to clean up after other housemates) they don't even wash their hands

But she comes in and one time looked behind me while I was in a towel to nag about water on the floor (mind you she came in and moved the bathmat without telling anyone and I was in the shower before I realized to put it back. I always hang the mat over the tub. My housemates just leave it there wet)

Older coworkers, lyft drivers, etc. Just freely ask me about my personal business (why I wasn't saving my money for a car this past year ((I live in the city too)), my boyfriend's assets, wage, credit, if i help my mom with bills)

I'm sick of it. I feel obligated to answer because I grew up being told to respect old people for the hell of it.
