I have spent the most of this day trying to figure out what these elongated shapes are. The location is close to Al Khidayrah and Al Jirab

In my search, I have mostly found other posts asking the same question, but no conclusive answer.

The best explanations until now are:

Mangrove nursery, coral plantations, salt harvesting or algae farms

One of the best preserved fortresses in Europe, and still being used by the Danish Defence ministry (primarily for offices, museum and monuments). Free endtrance to everyone, and quite close to the Little Mermaid

The lake, as far as I understand is used to limit the amount of dust generated by the chalk mine that is being mined at the surface of the area to the right!
