I got a message on LinkedIn about a job, it seems legit. The issue is as soon as I replied, she basically told me to apply as quickly as possible because it's time sensitive.

I don't know why this kind of rubs me the wrong way, I guess because I'm in a different time zone and I'm expected to literally drop everything for a job I might not even have an actual chance for.

Also she is the person who I would be working with, my potential future boss, and also the co owner of the company.

Am I overreacting? It just seems unnecessarily stressful idk. Also I'm very afraid of red flags now cause I ignored them at my last company and it was a nightmare.

if it doesnt pass a sniff test move on, easiest thing. many jobs are nightmares sadly. I will say no job is time sensitive enough for it to be your problem or responsibility during the application process. if a company is in situation where its truly time sensitive it means they fucked up and its their problem and there are likely other issues.

Maybe it's possible the person quit and they might need an asap replacement. Its also strange because she wrote in her status that previous applicants can apply again to some new listing.

Why not just contact them? Why do they have to apply again?

You can try rationalizing their behavior but honestly its immaterial. a lot of hiring people play stupid games with people during the process. you can trying to figure out wtf they're doing but honestly its not worth your time.

just decide if its worth your effort to reapply or not and then take the action.

Tbh I started applying in their website.. seemed pretty basic. Had to select my availability, years of customer service experience, then add my resume (which took me hours to edit), then when I thought I was done it asked to attach a recording introducing myself??! Wtf it's 9pm here I don't have time for this bs!!!!! And I have no way of knowing what the next steps will be either

take a 30 minute recording of your resume and add some audio like 'Hi, please enjoy this reading of my resume you were suppose to read but were too lazy to and instead decided people should send you a video'

LOL I think they just want to like.. assess how superficially charming and likeable I am through a short recording which is cringe as f.. there's way more to a person's likeability than how good they are at presenting when they're being recorded but ok.

Like wtf do they even want me to say? It's for a virtual assistant job. OH HEY ITS ME, ALEXA, HOW CAN I HELP YOU TODAY? I AM SO EXPERIENCED PICK ME PICK ME PICK ME PICK ME
