What an odd thing. That's fascinating. I've noticed the craze, I havent tried it, but I didn't know it originated in the US. I suspected it though, because I think most places would just play tennis. Still curious what the draw is.
I think it’s a lot easier to learn than tennis. Tennis court owners like it because it’s easy to convert the courts to dual use. Some owners are now going to exclusive pickle ball courts because they’re smaller so they can fit more courts in a given space.
I’ve never had any interest in learning though. I also know there are some pretty epic feuds between players of both sports.
Don't forget the feuds between pickleball players and the residents around the parks/clubs that have converted to it, or set aside hours for pickleball players. It is the most annoying sound, a loud POCK -- POCK -- POCK --POCK... all frigging DAY.... AAARRRRGGGGG!
I’m so glad I don’t live near a pickleball court! There’s one about 6 minute walk away but that’s out of earshot!
