A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.
Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:
- Both “200” and “160” are 2 minutes in microwave math
- When you’re a kid, you don’t realize you’re also watching your mom and dad grow up.
- More dreams have been destroyed by alarm clocks than anything else
Rules
- All posts must be showerthoughts
- The entire showerthought must be in the title
- No politics
- If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
- A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
- Posts must be original/unique
- Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS
If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.
Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

Artists don't use AI at all bud. And it certainly doesn't help you in any professional capacity.
So answer me, why are you trying to die on this hill? Why are you so bitter about the art world and why do you think you can't draw?
Artists use AI all the time. This is how I know you're not one and don't really know that many.
Prove to me artists use AI because all the artists I know absolutely loathe it and refuse to touch it. You're in denial and also refusing to answer my questions, so let me ask you a different one.
Why do you like AI so much to defend it? Why do you think artists use AI when so many are saying otherwise?
You're the only one in denial here. I know all the artists you know hate it, you don't know that many artists. Go to a gallery sometime, you'll have fun.
I don't like AI. In fact, I hate it with a passion, I just think you all are very stupid.
Dude, I live within walking distance of like, three galleries, including one I've sold at.
You're kind of an idiot and an ass, so maybe pull your head out sometime, you'll have fun.
Oh, you live at walking distance from 3 galleries? You should have led with that. How blind I was. You probably know everything there is to know about art. I mean, THREE galleries. At WALKING distance! WOW! Ok, enough of that. There's literally dozens of galleries at walking distance from my home and even more artists' studios. Have you considered you have such a naive view of art because you live in a place with no art?
Fft, like you're an expert, you think artists use AI and you can't draw. Whatever bud go pretend you know what you're talking about I'm sure it'll impress someone who's gullible.
I know denial is easier to fit in your unbelievably narrow worldview but AI has helped a lot of artists create art and will continue doing so for years to come, you just need to get out of Bumfuck, Alabama to see it. Also this is... what? The fourth time I tell you I can draw? I guess we can add reading comprehension to the things you're bad at.
Sure man, have your delusions. I'll be out here with the real artists while you play pretend. Have fun using a robot to cosplay as someone actually making something.
