So I recently interviewed for a job that I did at a competitor. I was a team leader. I was a Senior engineer. I was going up against 300+ people for a single job and I didn’t even make it to the in person interviews. That’s how hard this market is right now. I have 10 years in the industry. And I can’t find a job besides a store clerk position at a grocery store.
Same, I got laid off recently and 12 years of experience isn't even getting me interviews at in-person jobs.
You might be too expensive tbh... Their goal is to drive down your wage here IMHO
I am not sure if there is away out.
They did similar things in accounting and law post 2008. Looks tech is this crisis flavor of wage suppression
The way out is creating cooperative companies where the programmers have more votes than marketing people.
