Not-so-fun-fakt: The actual Nazis were pretty homophobic.
Despite the leadership around and including Rohm being quite gay.
Well, that was before the Night of the Long Knives.
According to the account by J.Fest, the perpetrators found Rohm and many of his henchmen in bed that evening. The other arguably gay aspect of Nazi culture is the Waffen SS officer uniform, it's very stylish compared with the grimly functional attires of the allied forces. None of this is an indictment of gay culture but interesting that it manifests in fascist regimes. Fragile men attempting to become more masculine go so far with their efforts that horseshoe theory comes into effect.
