I started to continue rewatching Dr. Who by myself and Peter Capaldi hasn't felt quite as bad as I remember it 10 years or so ago.
It was tough coming off the back of Matt Smith, but I felt the production dipped a little for me. I don't think it's as good as Tennant/Smith, I still think the show had started to dip by this point, but I think I appreciate it differently on a 2nd watch.
I loved Capaldi, for me it took the show back to that short tempered grandfather the character originally was. Much as I enjoyed what some of the younger actors did with the role, it wasn’t quite The Doctor as originally portrayed.
That's fair. I've only watched Tom Baker and bits and pieces of other Doctors, maybe a bit more of McCoy. I suppose Eccleston fit that vibe a little bit.
