General Discussion for politics in the UK.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and either a link to reputable news source, or be a text post.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I don’t think he understands that the ocean currents that bring heat to Europe are shutting down.

Exactly. We get warmer weather until it turns catastrophically cold.

While the northern hemisphere will get significantly colder, and the southern hemisphere warmer, the collapsing of the AMOS also effects the wind. This would effect the trade winds and the polar vortex, so depending on how they rearranged, we may not get the Arctic blasts from the north and it just ends up being a bit colder.

This is the apocalypse I'd prefer. Well, I'd prefer it if our governments actually took proper action but I've lost hope there.

The models I've seen project at least 5°C drop in temperature for most of the UK if the AMOS fails. You may enjoy the summer a bit more but winters would be harsh if that comes to pass

Even aside from the health impact of that, our infrastructure is not built to withstand that. Trains and roads are going to be even more fucked.
