Last year, Google TV lost the ability to purchase shows. In recent weeks, we’ve noticed that Google TV is not letting you buy some movies.

Have you not heard of Google's legendary ability of ditching products? If you were able to buy those movies, how do you think that would go when it closes down?

All Google TV rentals/purchases are available concurrently on YouTube. I am sure they will remain there if and when it is shut down and they move their store to YouTube. They moved away from Play Music to YouTube Music, I figure they will want to leverage YouTube's name and branding to denote their media services and give their video store more recognition and respect. I expect there will be a new "service" separate from the main YouTube system just like their other YouTube apps...
