I'm so fucking stoked now that we can shit on Republicans for having an old candidate. We should reeeallly lean on this. Come up with slogans:

Diaper Donald the Geriatric Cheeto Pedo

And post it on billboards all over purple counties

You can look at all my comments today to see my enthusiasm. I wish more folks were feeling hopeful. I told my partner I was stoked and she was so confused as to why this shouldn't be perceived as a full scale collapse.

I didn't like Kamala in the past. I didn't like Biden either. Politically speaking, they both align closely with one another and are also aligned quite close to my political leanings, ideally speaking. I didn't like the baggage Kamala brought with her and I didn't like how boring ole Biden was. Turns out boring won, and I've truly valued the work he's done since 2020.

I've also come around on Kamala since then, especially after reading her book, and listening to some of her speeches more recently. I don't think she's the same person she was 20+ years ago. Who among us would say that about ourselves? I think she's evolved away from the drug criminalization prosecutor era, and she's clearly gotten a lot stronger since 2020 as both a public speaker and debater.

If her and Trump actually do have a debate (I doubt it) I fully expect her to completely embarrass him. She's much younger, much sharper, and has all of the right tools through her career to completely pants him as the old withering corpse that he has become even since 2016. Bonus points if she drops a "lock him up!" because, well, she actually could.

Yes, I am actually looking forward to voting for Harris. I would even more so if she taps Mark Kelly as her VP. That would be a dream.

I would love to see Trump speechless

This is the right attitude. Not in terms of political strategy, but in a practical sense. The point about how none of us are who were 20 years ago is huge. I appreciate all Joe's done and his huge patriotic sacrifice...

But now I'm actually hopeful! I'm enthusiastic! I'm energized! Join me in volunteering and donating, and make sure everyone you know votes. Donald Trump and his 2025 architects don't have a chance if we're all united!!!

[–] [email protected] 14 points 10 months ago

It has do be done in the right way.

I suggest we find all the republican ones and write over the top in clear sharpie. Clearly still republican signs.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 10 months ago (2 children)

They don't care. If the hypocrisy of saying that while running a 78 year old candidate is lost on you, consider that every word out of their mouth is projection, and they'll probably start saying stuff like Kamala doesn't have the experience to lead or that being half Indian makes her beholden to foreign powers or some shit, despite mango bastard being the most unfit to lead president in history and his various business and familial ties to foreign power.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 10 months ago

They do care. It's why they swap narratives. It's a mechanism on a cultural level derived by the negligence of Trump himself, that being his inability to take responsibility. Something the GOP has always done, turned up to 11. You don't fight this with facts, you fight it by targeting emotion.

At least he was already wearing a diaper when that teen shot at him, he definitely shit his pants.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 10 months ago (6 children)

What, are we in kindergarten now? Do we make fun of old people that Democrats need to help win this election? People care about policies.

[–] [email protected] 35 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (3 children)

Take a look at the official federal Republican platform and say that again with a straight face, I fucking dare you.

The average voter in this country is undereducated, underemployed and uninformed. Trump voters voted for him because they thought they were kicking the establishment in the nuts. And of course the saving the guns and the right to bare babies or some shit I'm sure.

No, they don't understand the policies. And they don't care to. They generally don't even watch the debates or speeches. They're comfortable not knowing. They just want to feel relevant and heard, and sadly the GOP misinformation & marketing has been fairly successful at convincing them Republicans are the ones who care about them over the last 30 years.

Republican voters keep voting against welfare, social security, and healthcare. They are the people more likely to need government assistance. Not all people care about policies.

The vast majority of people do not even know what the policies of each party are, little less have opinions on which are better.

For the past three months, the Republicans and every disinformation campaign has pointed to Biden’s (non-age-related) speaking stutters and 2-year age difference and said “old bad”.

This is not immaturity. This is bipartisanship. We’re just mockingly saying “Yes.”

[–] [email protected] 68 points 10 months ago (4 children)

This isn’t the weirdest thing that could happen.

[–] [email protected] 40 points 10 months ago

What would be really crazy is if she then died while in office.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Trump cancels his presidential campaign, comes on board as Harris' VP nom

[–] [email protected] 11 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

The way the founding fathers intended

"Originally, each elector cast two votes for president; at least one of the individuals voted for had to be from a state different from the elector's. The individual with the majority of votes became president, and the runner-up became vice president."

[–] [email protected] 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

It would still be really fucking stupid.

I guffawed. This was excellent.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 10 months ago (1 children)

The VP isn't that unimportant. If you can't do the job as President, you shouldn't be VP either.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 10 months ago

Right that’s why Trump took another fascist so he can be sure next time he’ll do his bidding by not certifying the election.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I'd try to avoid the Putin/Medvedev president -vice switch vibes...

[–] [email protected] 11 points 10 months ago (4 children)

This. Getting Biden in as a VP would threaten the legitimacy of the democracy, which was already in jeopardy by the DNC shoving the candidate through very weak primaries.

Any reason to keep wearing my dark brandon teeshirt.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 10 months ago

I've heard good things about this Brandon guy

[–] [email protected] 17 points 10 months ago

Can you imagine 🤯

[–] [email protected] 13 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (3 children)

Let's not. This is a classic MAGA meme format, only a democratic version. We are not a cult. Joe is NOT suitable to run as VP, let's not blindly pretend he is. I like him, but no.

Seriously, you can't just sit there and say he is too old to be President then turn-around and say you want him as VP.

First off it's a joke and second off if you stop using meme formats cause MAGA people use them you're gonna run out of meme formats cause they're not gonna give a shit and use whatever formats they want.

This is what I thought would happen if he stepped down. We'll see.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

That is a sure way to lose.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 10 months ago (2 children)

How could you possibly be so sure of that?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 10 months ago (27 children)

Seriously? The guy who's mental state declined so much that he lost a debate to Trump, that a majority of Democrats wanted him out and whose own party showed him for two weeks that he was losing in all the polls and didn't have a chance, would be a good choice for VP? Like, are you being serious? Why not a Hillary/Biden ticket if you really want to lose?
