Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Not mentioned in the article, but the Association of Educational Psychologists is also balloting to strike in a few weeks, and that will also largely coincide with these strikes if it passes. Looks like it's going to be a total educational shutdown.
