Wow, a bunch of assholes in here.

A bunch of assholes that don’t seem to realize that no one gives a shit if you don’t like Mac OS

This is a community for people who do. Grow up.

OP: thanks, I learned a couple useful tips from this.

I do like macOS, if your comment was aimed at me. In fact it’s my favorite OS. The default switcher is terrible. It’s pointless to talk about something if you think it’s perfect. This article wouldn’t even exist if that were the case. The best solution to the default switcher is literally to not use it, because it doesn’t make sense in any workflow. AltTab solves it.

Essential tricks:

  1. Use AltTab
  2. Nothing else. The Mac app switcher is terrible

Why do non-Mac users bother commenting here?

But alt tab works on a Mac it’s what I use at work

The app is called AltTab. I’m literally a Mac user.

Can it display/switch to a specific window of an open application? That's my biggest gripe with the default switcher.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (2 children)

The default switcher can do it… right click on the icon of the application.

I just tested this now finally. Once again, this shortcut doesn't work with full screen windows in any way. When having one window open in full screen and one in windowed mode, it just lets me switch to the windowed window.

Not for full screen windows I think

I still don't understand, how somebody at apple implemented this and just thought "ah, full screen apps and selection between multiple instances of an app, who even needs that?"

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

I switch between multiple instances of an app on a regular basis.
