I have a couple of Kipling's that have held up well.
Buy it for Life
A place to share practical, durable and quality made products that are made to last, with an emphasis on upcycled and sustainable products!
Guidelines:
Things that are well-made and durable (even if they won't last a lifetime) are A-Okay!
Unlike that other BIFL place, Home-made and DIY items are encouraged here, as long as some form of instruction is included in the body of the post.
Videos links are not allowed as post titles, but you may use them in a text post.
A limited amount of self-promotion is accepted, IF the item you are selling aligns with this criteria:
- The item must be made with sustainable or recycled materials.
- If electronic in some way, the item must be open-source.
- The item must be user-serviceable (if applicable).
- You cannot be a large corporation.
- The post must be clearly marked with a [Self Promotion] tag in your title.
@N01R3 I spent a decade trying out different bags for everything including event work. Went through loads, more often by them not being quite right rather than wearing out. Settled on an Osprey one in 2018, it's lasted and I haven't wanted anything different since. They don't do the exact one any more, but do a few like it with detachable daypacks, which is a great feature: wear as one big rucksack, but can split into luggage/daypack, hold/cabin luggage etc.
I have now had a Goruck G2 backpack for 4 years as my daily driver as well as for travel and shorter hikes. It is a great backpack, heavy duty and well thought out design. The only downside being it's somewhat hefty price tag and the shipping costs to Europe.
Frost River. They can be a bit heavy, but are lifers. They typically make portaging packs, but their daily bags are made just as durable.
