Swissquote Bank is in the process of adding official support for GrapheneOS to their main app. They've published a Beta version of the app with GrapheneOS support for us to share with our users. Can use https://appdistribution.firebase.google.com/testerapps/1:922102381011:android:b7cac4eab8e5776d/releases/4rp8ha7plvg00 to obtain it via the sandboxed Play Store.

Swissquote previously added GrapheneOS support to their Yuh financial app. They're following our guide on using hardware attestation as an alternative to Play Integrity able to support more than Google Mobile Services hardware and operating systems: https://grapheneos.org/articles/attestation-compatibility-guide.

The link we provided might not work in Vanadium since Firebase appears to use the Client Hints headers to detect the OS version. We set the OS version in the Client Hints headers to the frozen User Agent value which is Android 10. May need to install and use Chrome to access it.

We've previously seen an issue where a site used the Client Hints provided OS version to ban using incredibly out-of-date Android versions. We didn't remove the Client Hints headers because that trips bot detection. Reusing the frozen User Agent values was working quite well.

A Tucson Sector Border Patrol agent has been indicted on 24 felony charges, including 10 counts of child sex trafficking, the latest in a series of sexual-misconduct convictions or charges against U.S. Customs and Border Protection employees in Arizona.

Willcox border agent Bart Conrad Yager, 39, was also charged with six counts of “pandering,” or encouraging someone to engage in prostitution; one count of attempted child sex trafficking; and two counts of fraud, between July 2023 and March 2024 in Cochise County, indictments from the Cochise County Attorney’s Office show.

A CBP spokesman said the agency’s Office of Professional Responsibility arrested Yager in Willcox on June 17, and executed a search warrant based on allegations of child sex trafficking, fraudulent schemes and pandering.

“CBP stresses honor and integrity in every aspect of our mission, and the overwhelming majority of CBP employees and officers perform their duties with honor and distinction, working tirelessly every day to keep our country safe,” an emailed CBP statement said. “An arrest is merely an allegation. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”

Yager is the latest of several Arizona-based CBP employees, including border agents and a port officer in CBP’s Office of Field Operations, who have been charged with or convicted of sexual misconduct and other crimes.

Yuma Sector border agent Ramon Marquez, 31, was arrested in May and has been charged with 15 felonies, including 14 counts of sexual conduct with a 16-year-old between December 2024 and April 2025, and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, such as filming or photographing the encounter, according to a May 15 indictment in Yuma County Superior Court.

CBP port officer Aaron Thomas Mitchell, 30, was sentenced to 27 years in prison in March, after being convicted on federal charges of abducting and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old Douglas middle school student in 2022. Mitchell now faces state charges in Cochise County.

An investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Douglas Police Department found Mitchell approached the student as she waited for school to start, identified himself as a law enforcement officer and ordered her into his car. He then drove her to his home, where he sexually assaulted her for hours, according to a U.S. Justice Department statement.

In January, former Tucson Sector Border Patrol agent Efren Lopez Cornejo was sentenced to two counts of lifetime probation, but no jail time, after he accepted an October 2024 plea agreement, admitting to one count of child abuse and one count of indecent exposure.

Lopez Cornejo was initially charged with 14 felonies in 2021, including child molestation, sexual abuse of a minor and sexual conduct with a minor under 15, which allegedly took place mostly between 2011 and 2017. The two victims were family members, and one was 9 when the alleged abuse started, an interim complaint said.

Under the plea deal, overseen by Pima County Superior Court Judge Casey McGinley, Lopez Cornejo does not have to register as a sex offender.

Pima County Attorney Laura Conover said the plea deal came after the trial ended with a hung jury, and prosecutors decided not to pursue a second trial.

“Trials can bring some measure of closure and healing,” Conover said. “But all too often trials are another trauma” for the victims.

Prosecutors pushed for prison time for Lopez Cornejo, in addition to lifetime probation, but ultimately, “it was the judge’s decision,” Conover said.

‘Culture of impunity’ Critics and civil rights advocates say a long-standing lack of accountability and weak oversight within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security — the parent agency of CBP and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE — has meant agents haven’t faced consequences for abusive behavior, sexual harassment of colleagues and excessive use of force in the field.

“Abuse by CBP agents is not an issue of just a few rogue agents, but is a systemic problem across the agency that has existed from its very start,” said Ricky Garza, border policy counsel for the Southern Border Communities Coalition, which advocates for “rational” immigration policies, humane and accountable border-enforcement practices and quality of life in border communities.

Trump axes key infrastructure funding while more than 18,000 Ohio properties face flood risk as ageing dam buckles

More than 18,000 properties that sit downstream of a series of a century-old Ohio dam are at risk of flooding over the next three decades, according to climate data, as the Trump administration continues to roll back investments that would aid in keeping the waters at bay.

In a part of the US that’s largely flat, the view from above the Huffman dam in south-west Ohio is rare.

From the bike trail atop the dam, the shimmering lights of downtown Dayton appear to the south. Cargo planes from a nearby air force base circle overhead and water from the 66-mile-long Mad River gushes underfoot.

But the dam serves a far more pressing purpose: holding back up to 54bn gallons of water – enough to fill 82,000 Olympic-size swimming pools – during flooding events.

We published this response to a recent article promoting insecure devices with /e/OS with inaccurate claims, including inaccurate comparisons to GrapheneOS:

https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/24134-devices-lacking-standard-privacysecurity-patches-and-protections-arent-private

The founder of /e/OS has responded with misinformation promoting /e/OS and attacking GrapheneOS.

We made a post with accurate info on our forum in response to inaccurate information, that's all. There's a lot more we could have covered. See https://kuketz-blog.de/e-datenschutzfreundlich-bedeutet-nicht-zwangslaeufig-sicher-custom-roms-teil6/ for several examples such as /e/OS having unique user tracking in their update client not communicated to users.

The founder of /e/OS responded to the post we made on our forum here:

https://mastodon.social/@gael/114874688715085353

Gaël Duval has repeatedly personally targeted the founder of GrapheneOS in response to us posting accurate information responding to misinformation from /e/OS and their supporters.

Contrary to what's claimed in this thread, /e/OS does not improve privacy. /e/OS massively reduces privacy compared to the Android Open Source Project in multiple ways. /e/OS is consistently very far behind on shipping important privacy improvements in new major Android releases.

/e/OS regularly lags many weeks, months and even years behind on shipping important privacy and security patches. They roll back various parts of the privacy and security model, add a bunch of privileged Google service integration and their own privacy invasive services too.

The link posted at https://mastodon.social/@gael/114875028964272029 shows /e/OS shipping the previous round of Chromium privacy/security patches a couple weeks late. It regularly takes them months instead of weeks. They take far longer to ship many of the important driver, firmware and AOSP patches.

The link also shows they're using the wrong Chromium tags for Android and frequently results in missing Android-specific privacy/security patches. Chromium 138.0.7204.97 was a June 30th release for Windows, not Android. The Android tag for June 30th was 138.0.7204.63.

https://chromereleases.googleblog.com/2025/07/stable-channel-update-for-desktop_15.htmlhttps://chromereleases.googleblog.com/2025/06/chrome-for-android-update_30.html

Patches in Chromium Stable channel updates for Android are often only in the Android tags, not the Windows ones.

The current Android release is 138.0.7204.157, with security patches beyond 138.0.7204.63:

https://chromiumdash.appspot.com/releases?platform=Android

These were minor releases of Chromium. It's trivial to incorporate the changes and ship them on release day within hours. Even major releases of Chromium every ~4 weeks are easy to ship on release day because major releases are open source for weeks in advance, unlike Android.

As can be seen by looking back through https://github.com/GrapheneOS/Vanadium/releases and comparing it to the Android release dashboard linked above, we ship the Chromium Stable and Early Stable releases on release day. This is not impressive. Shipping privacy/security patches is the bare minimum.

Our forum post and this thread were both posted in response to inaccurate info about GrapheneOS posted to promote /e/OS. Once again personally targeting our founder with fabricated stories and harassment from their community is what /e/OS has done before and continues doing.

/e/OS targeted the founder of DivestOS in a similar way and /e/OS supporters directed a massive amount of harassment towards him. It played a significant role in DivestOS being discontinued. /e/OS will not achieve the same thing targeting our founder and should stop doing it.

/e/OS is extraordinarily insecure and non-private due to lagging so far behind on patches and crippling Android Open Source Project privacy/security protections. Selling many devices many months or even years of missing Critical severity patches and hiding it in the UI is wrong.

Murena's services are not nearly as private as claimed and not at all on the same level as serious options such as Proton's software suite. Many of their services recently went down from early October 2024 through March 2025:

https://community.e.foundation/t/update-on-murena-io-service-outage/61781

It's somehow a paid service.

RulesBefore you start participating, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our rules:

  1. (Rule One) 🔞 Age Requirement:
  • All users and lurkers MUST be age 18 or over.
    • a. Posting content involving any person who is under 18 is strictly forbidden. This includes real, drawn, and fictional content.
    • b. All loli/shota/cub or similar content is strictly forbidden.
    • c. Motherless is banned due to their lack of moderation around CSAM
  1. (Rule Two) Respect and Consent:
  • Treat all members with respect and obtain consent when sharing explicit content involving others. No doxxing. No soliciting or sharing personal info. No homophobia, transphobia, body shaming, or kinkshaming. Don’t be an asshole.
  1. (Rule Three) No NSFL/Gore/Snuff Content:
  • We strictly forbid the sharing or promotion of NSFL (Not Safe For Life) or gore content. This includes fictional snuff scenarios.
  1. (Rule Four) No Bestiality/Zoophilia:
  • We strictly forbid any NSFW content involving animals.
  1. (Rule Five) No Non-Consensual Content:
  • We strictly forbid content made or released without consent of everyone in the content, including revenge porn / deepfakes / leaked content / NC / true voyeur / rape content.
  • Fictional non consent and CNC content is allowed (i.e. hentai, and other animated media) is allowed as long as it follows our other rules.
  1. (Rule Six) No Illegal Content:
  • We strictly forbid promotion and detailed discussion of things that are broadly illegal in most of the world, like murder, animal cruelty, money laundering, and so on. Our policy on mind-altering substances is more complicated – see the FAQ (its in the table of contents to the right).
    • a. Solicitation of sexual services (either way, asking or offering) is strictly forbidden. (why?)
  1. (Rule Seven) NSFW Flag:
  • All NSFW communities and posts must be flagged as NSFW.
  1. (Rule Eight) **No Rules Lawyering:
  • Admin decisions are final and arguing with them can result in a suspension or banning of your account and removal of your content.** (if you feel a community is not being sufficiently moderated or properly following these guidelines, please contact an admin.)
  1. (Rule Nine) Don't Spam Posts:
  • Please only post a few posts to a community at a time. You may mean well by posting several posts at once, but because of lemmy's limited algorithms this will saturate the feeds of many people on this instance and other instances.
    • What is considered spamming will be left up to the admins/mods, but if you've made more than 10 posts at a time in a single community, consider waiting until a later time to continue posting to that community.
    • Please limit cross posting the same image to 5 times or less
    • Spamming may result in a 1 day or longer community or sitewide ban depending on the severity and if it's a repeated offense.

If any material is ambiguous or borderline forbidden content, we’re usually going to err on the side of caution. Please use your common sense.

This is a condensed form of our rules. If you want to read further discussion into the rules above, our reasonings behind our decisions, general knowledge about the instance and things generally our team would like you to know please click here to visit our docs page.

All users and communities must follow and respect these general instance-wide rules. Any violations could result in suspension or banning of your account or community and purging of your content.

Community Guidelines

  1. Stay Relevant:
  • Share relevant content in the relevant communities and ensure your content complies with the rules of those communities.
  1. Self-Promotion:
  • Self-Promotion is only okay as long as the community you are posting in allows it, and you don’t spam it.
  1. Content Sourcing
  • We would strongly prefer all content be credited and sourced if possible, to make it easier to keep CSAM and noncon off of the instance. See the FAQ for more info.
  1. Furry Content

Temporary RulesBecause of technical limitations of the Lemmy platform, we are forced to implement some restrictions on content. These are restrictions that don’t necessarily fit with our larger philosophy. We hope to revise this section once Lemmy evolves as a platform and moderation tools improve.

  1. NSFW User Avatar: NSFW user avatars are prohibited as it is currently not possible to mark users as NSFW. NSFW user banners are also prohibited.

  2. Temporary Content Restrictions: The following content is temporarily restricted: Hot lunch (🤮), blood, scat.

If you are the admin of another instance and you have any issues with Lemmy NSFW please raise it with one of our admins so we can communicate on how we can improve this instance. We would prefer to work with you before either of us consider defederation.
