If anyone is able to volunteer that would be greatly appreciated as it would cover the time for when I’m away.

This is why we need the smaller alternatives to succeed.

Technically running FreeRTOS and therefore not Linux, but the OS was open sourced by Google earlier this year, so I think it counts in spirit.

I added support for local api which speeds up the app a lot.

FOSDEM reports in blog and podcast format by postmarketOS, a new OS, a FLX1 review by a known YouTuber, Lima improvements, some last minute camera hacks, and way more! Enjoy!

It seems Ubuntu Touch for Fairphone 5 is now available from the ubports installer, which means it should be relatively easy to install!

It's still early, and some features are apparently not working yet (such as Waydroid, which lets you emulate Android apps), but it seems to be running pretty well already.

I mainly use my phone for messaging (ie. Signal, Whatsapp etc), web browsing/social media (forums, lemmy, bluesky etc), and video viewing (jellyfin, alt youtube frontends, and netflix)

Are all these things possible on a linux phone like a Pinephone?
