Hello! I’ve run into a bit of a situation with the Saturn core. I have most recent unstable build and Saturn core on MiSTer.

I have BIOS I’ve tried renaming “boot.rom” and nothing loads. Get a blue screen. Delete files from “games”. Have tried this with multiple bios.

I load the bios using “Load bios *.BIN” in core menu. Several of the bios will show up and I’ll select one and I’ll get part of a Saturn boot screen.

I then try to select a game and the message “CD BIOS NOT FOUND!”

I have multiple region bios in the BIOS folder as well and tried renaming one of those “boot.rom” and that’s done nothing

I feel like I’m missing something basic along the way here.

It sucks to be so close and yet so far

Any advice would be appreciated!

EDIT: FIXED! Somehow the core turbo function was turned on and was causing the issue. I turned it off and it works perfectly.

I'm having major issues with the genesis core.

I can load some games, but not others. Blaster Master 2 and 3 Ninjas Kick Back work, but none of the Sonic games do. I've run update all, I've switched filezilla to binary mode, I've tried roms from 4 different sets. Not really sure where to go from here.

For what it's worth NEO GEO core is working fine, so I dont think the ram is bad. I'm also running Mister Multisystem from Heber.

The big advantage of the pocket is i can play on the way + on tv I dont know if i should buy a mister for 600€ Thank you 👍

With the N64 core now in development, I thought I'd share my recent testing with various *USB wired* controller connection options. If anyone has others, please share!

Rumble: TBD :D

The game plays nicely. I wasn't aware this was even in progress so it was a great surprise.

The new 8bitdo NEOGEO controller works fine with MiSTerFPGA. Fun way to play especially NEOGEO games actually! I cannot compare it to the original NEOGEO controller because havent't tried it.

Asking this question because I looked on the site itself, and while it lists some of the cores, others that I've read about that supposedly work just fine aren't listed. Namely the CPS1, CPS2, and CPS3 boards. I've heard the last one is a relatively recent development.

Where I'm confused is where the ceiling for the FPGA lies in terms of emulation performance.

From what I understand, everything up to the fifth generation of consoles will be possible to emulate, with a big giant "MAYBE" on the Dreamcast.

Also, some arcade games are emulated, while others aren't. Things like the klassic Mortal Kombats, and just a lot of Midway's arcade games in general, both Killer Instincts, Primal Rage, Primal Rage 2, etc.. Are these games harder, if not impossible to pull off, or are things just too early for them to be ready for prime time?

I'm mostly coming at this from someone who's used software emulation his whole life, so IDK what's reasonable or what all is possible. I'm mostly looking to put this PVM I got to good use, and would like to be able to do more with less if possible.

How far along are the more recent cores, such as N64 and Saturn, especially the latter? Is full speed and "accurate" Saturn emulation possible on the MiSTeR, and how close is it to reaching that on a practical level?

Hope y’all are doing well.

I have decided to start gathering parts for my first Mister project. It’s been overwhelming but I’m still researching as much as I can about the build itself so I do apologize if I come across as inexperienced as someone who isn’t handy with circuitry and parts.

My first purchase would be the DE10 Nano kit, which I’m considering sourcing from their website. In addition to the board itself, I’m presented with the option of adding USB accessories, including a BT dongle, otg cable and a WiFi dongle.

Would I need any of these before checking out?

I would more than welcome your input and am appreciative of your time.
