Imagine if you will, that you developed time travel, and that you could transport yourself back to the historical dates of the main Paradox historical strategy games. Let’s say you are able to survive in those eras and are even able to meet and talk to the rulers of those eras.

You then have a fun idea. You take them back with you to the current day (let’s just ignore disease and any reactions your friends and family would have to you suddenly hanging around these weirdly dressed people) and to your area of residence and show them the Paradox historical grand strategy games. You explain to them what video games are and teach them all the mechanics. They learn how to play the game respective of the historical era they come from. William the Conqueror would play Crusader Kings. Ptolemy would play Imperator. Stalin would play Hearts of Iron. Etc.

My question is: what game would be the most ‘educational?’ After you let them play for a while, you send them back to their time, and they retain the knowledge of playing the game. What game would be the most helpful for their respective eras? Would Victoria be more helpful to people of the 1800s than CK would be to people of the Middle Ages? How would playing the game change their perspective on ruling their country? How would they adapt the strategies of the game into their statecraft?

And remember they only play the game series depicting the era they come from. Any game from the series is allowed, so William the Bastard could play CK, CK2 or CK3. Etc.

In euros, the base game is 10€ and the full game 16€. People might not like it but at least it's really cheap. That's all.

Most paradox games have either a certain focus or just have a more broad perspective, For Hoi4 it's War and army management, for Victoria 3 it's economic management and so on.

But is there anyone else who kinds of misses a game that is focused more so on the political management and passing laws aspect of these games? I feel like Victoria 3 (or imperator Rome) is pretty close but it still doesn't really scratch that itch for me.

I think a more modern (cold war or modern day for example) focused game would be perfect for this, since political ideology and law systems weren't really well developed before the period of Victoria 3 (at least I think so).

The developers probably have other priorities at the moment then developing a new game with new systems and a different focus mechanics wise, but I still wanted to see if there was any support for a game like this.

I haven't really thought out well how to implement this other than: Expand the systems set in place in Victoria 3. But I think it would be cool where the you can feel the impact your political decisions have on your nation other than a couple of modifiers.

I just want to shape a nation in my image (or whatever malicious goal I have at the moment) without being tied to already existing ideologies and parties.

Hoi4 endlessly starts when I open it normally and endlessly stops when I force it to close.

Whenever I manage to get the launcher to appear it doesn't work properly.
