I came here from a smallish instance (lemmy.villa-straylight.social) which "just vanished". I didn't catch any announcement and had no way to reach out to the admin. It's been two weeks and the instance didn't come back.

Now, this is a smaller instance, too. Which I generally do not mind, and I like the (non-) defederation policy and being in control of what I want to see. I just wonder if the same thing could happen here again.

TL;DR: Is there a way to contact the admin(s) in case of a site blackout? IRC, matrix, anything?

Hey, I noticed I wasn't able to set my profile picture or a community image. Is this intentional, or is it intended to be possible in the future?
