We moved to Tucson a few months ago and absolutely love it. In the U.K. it is common to flash your lights twice at someone to signal you are letting them out. For example, they want to change lanes or they’re pulling out of a side road. I have done this a few times and slowed down to let them go but they never do. Just this morning a car was behind a tractor I did it several times but they didn’t cross lanes.

Guess it’s just not a thing here?

I'm an RN with 23+ yrs of experience, 18 in the ED. Just moved to Tucson almost 2 yrs ago. Wanting input into the best ED in Tucson for an RN to work. I'm currently at NW (owned and "operated" by CHS). Been there only 2 months and I'm already bailing. I've worked in the worst of the worst in Baltimore City and the nursing issues were tolerable... Will appreciate any input!

Serious question - do other people feel like over the last 12 months, people have followed/respected the dotted lines for left turns much less?

I have noticed many times that if I'm turning left on the inside turn lane the person on the outside lane crosses over the dotted line and into my lane. At first I thought it was just a "Get off my lawn" thing but it truly seems like it's happening much more than ever before and I've lived here a while.

I've been using Walgreens pharmacy for all my prescriptions for years but lately I'm reconsidering. It seems like every time I go by to pick something up, either a) the line is half an hour long (inside and drive thru), b) the drive thru "system" is down, c) the whole store is shut down during business hours for some undisclosed reason, and/or d) it's whatever bizarre hour of the afternoon when the pharmacy is closed for a "meal break." Is it just my Walgreens at St Mary's and Silverbell that sucks? Is CVS any better? Is anywhere any better?

Has anyone been to nightfall so far this year? And if so, what are your thoughts? I’m a little nervous because I already bought tickets and they are NOT CHEAP and so far I’ve only seen negative reviews, so it’s a little disheartening… however I have heard it’s at least better than last year, so idk.

Also, if you’ve been, how are the food and drink prices?

a good BLT is my favorite sandwich.....currently, Beyond Bread and Baggin's are nearly tied for best in town for me, but they're very different from each other....Beyond Bread (Bob's BLT) may edge out a smidge ahead of Baggin's because of the fresh crunchy bread they're famous for......amount of ingredients and general prep may depend on the staff person on duty.....comes with a side choice with some choices requiring an upcharge (their gazpacho, served in warmer months, is a delicious side choice for an upcharge).......Baggin's (California BLT) is nearly tied because of generous ingredients and avocado being added.....bread is a soft dark rye-like offering and there is solid consistency in preparation compared to Beyond Bread......comes with a fresh mini chocolate chip cookie......both places are around a startling $12 now (thanks covid and "supply chain")!!

a traditional diner-style BLT (routine toasted white bread, mayo, and the B, L, and T) can be a classic comfort reminder of back home if the ingredients aren't skimpy, but these two places above may put Mom to shame.....

thoughts, comments, other places?......

Asked someone out, but they're down in Vail. I'm east side (closer to midtown), is there a location for a dinner date that's halfway between Tucson and Vail that would make for a first date setting?

Edit: we're both in our early 30s

Truths are being uncovered that we all suspected. The 250 missing animals were sent to a reptile breeding business that advertises the sale of live and frozen snake feed. The small animals were initially transferred from the San Diego Humane Society to be in the care of the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. After weeks without any mention of the animals, the community began to question their whereabouts. Steve Farley (HSSA CEO) stacked lie upon lie in attempt to cover up the horrifying truth. The small animals were never adopted; they were taken to a reptile breeder to be used as food for snakes. View the HSSA facebook page to see read their most recent statement. The community is pushing for answers and to hold those involved accountable.
