Ok that doesn’t have anything to do with DEI though. DEI is the idea that hiring a more diverse group of executives and employees will yield more profits. The USSR wouldn’t institute DEI.

While I wholeheartedly agree with unbiased, fair and equal employment access and treatments, DEI has a more global agenda via Neo-Marxist ideology

There’s nothing wrong with countries helping out other countries! I honestly want more of that. I just sincerely dislike the Neo-Marxist mindset that it’s okay to dismantle someone else’s home country to help out their own.

Edit also, if you consider the U.S. history with regional destabilization of LatAm countries, there are a lot of ghosts here which are coming back to haunt the US. No one has clean hands, historically.

Neither of those sources are good. James Lindsay is a propagandist and has no credibility in social sciences at all. He could not be a valid source much like my niece who is 3 cannot be a good source because neither has any education or experience that would suggest they know what they are talking about.

Your assertion that Marxism has anything to do with DEI seems to be unsupported.

The second source immedeately quotes the "black book of communism" on its death toll. Holy shit, you actually believe the "cultural marxist" shit?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Your first source doesn't reject DEI and talks about how Marxists shouldn't reject the definition of white supremacy the analytical technique uses. It has notging to do with your claim.

Yoyr second source is a NYpost article that the Manhattan institute's webpage is hosting.

Im going to stop you here and point out that all of your sources are either not supporting your claim or are biased trash tier.

It really seems like you don't actually know what either of these things are and are just spitting nonsensical talking points handed tp you from right wing sources.

Maybe consider learning why CRT isn't something you needed to worry about or even know about (again it's an analytical technique created fir law school students) or what DEI is. Maybe avoid right wing propaganda sources when learning about them.

I suggest using google scholar and looking up some stuff yourself with keywords, it’s not my job to educate you. I posted easy and accessible articles on purpose, but there is a lot of academic material available that’s harder to parse for shitpost reading.

Why would you think I should follow the same steps you did when the results you returned were of such incredibly poor quality? Did you think these things had something to do with Marxism and look for evidence to support that or did you actually believe these sources to begin with? If it is the second one take a minute to learn what Marxism is because you clearly are very confused as to what it means (right-wing US sources are terrible for what is and is not Marxism).

I don’t know how right I am, I just know that the James Lindsay article makes sense based on what I know about Marxism, CRT and Stalinism, and my own interactions with Marxists on Lemmy. There’s a real threat here, and people need to be careful. From my reading of the more philosophical articles, it seems there is some supporting evidence, but it would need a blog post to put it all together with citations, etc etc. Not interested.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If that makes sense to you then you have a very flawed understanding of these subjects. I will go so far as to suggest that you know almost nothing about Marx if you think that's making an informed argument.

CRT is an analytical technique developed for law students to assess the outcomes of historical racism in the laws. Im not sure what risks you think there are for adults who are better educated than most to study this. No one is teaching this to children

Your issue seems to be that you uncritically accept terrible sources. Why listen to what a pundit claims versus a person with demonstrable expertise? It's a common issue for American conservatives.

I am sorry but no, I won’t go more into this. I could be wrong, but I am seriously not okay with some of the things .ml folks get away with saying, like it’s okay to put kulaks to death. This is why I am having such a response to this after coming across the CRT and DEI articles.

Everyone who doesn’t have generational wealth is working class. Period, doesn’t matter how much they have in the short term. But I even disagree with the whole guillotine uber wealthy folks thing too. No one needs to die, people need to chill out with the extremist shit. You don’t fix wrong with doing more wrong. Otherwise what’s the difference between you and authoritarians?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

I wouldn't suggest .ml or any part of Lemmy as a good source. If you want to learn about Marxism there are better sources though honestly any Intro to Poli Sci book you find at a library would do a decent job of explaining Marxism. If you prefer a video most of MIT's intro classes are online.

I wouldn't suggest Lemmy simply because far too often the "Marxist" is someone who seemingly got most of their political education from forum posts and infographics. It's weird how many Marxists here know little about their ideology and are merely anti-Western.

I missed the killing the rich people bit. Much of my family is wealthy. Most of their friends are decent folks who were born or got lucky. I don't think they should be killed.

Violent revolutions never work out the way participants want them to. The Iranian revolution was supposed to overthrow the Shah not make a theocratic autocracy but that's what happened. People who think it will work this time need to remember Iran, Cambodia, or many of the more recent revolutionary movements where everything went badly for all.
