When I use LLMs for search, I always ask for sources and then follow up.

I try to do that but it always ignores my request.

Bing (copilot?) used to do it automatically, which I loved.

It varies based on both the model and front end. Most SaaS AIs let you choose from several models. If you run it yourself you have much more choice.

I generally use duck.ai these days. It gives you a choice between five models, two of which are open source.
