Fun fact: In 1941, Nigerian troops (fighting for Britain against Italy) achieved the fastest gain of territory in any military campaign in all of human history.
Within a few weeks, they conquered land equivalent to what Germany conquered in their entire Eastern campaign.
Still, their contribution wasn't even mentioned in the victory speech by the British commander, they received less money than European or Asian soldiers, and they were the only ones who could be legally beaten as a disciplinary action.
Wow, that is a fun fact!
