I was also surprised, but I guess it makes sense. Wholly Kaw's scents aren't sub favourites and never have been. DG went from active in the sub to radio silence, and he has lost a lot of goodwill in the last year or so with his super delayed brushes, where customers would wait for months after having paid. CF is a solid brand, but if you look above in the list, I can really only see TSF and Macduffs who would clearly have been less popular a year or two ago.

So maybe we were just stuck in the past mentally?

I think that the new format contributes to a root-for-the-underdog approach. I love that! I was unaware of the popularity of Talent Soap Factory, and though I tried MacDuffs with the BVWSC, I had no idea how popular it seems to be. CF and SW seem to be tracking well at this stage. I completely get the Declaration sentiment. I never had the patience to collect his brushes. I have one, but have moved on.

Yes, it's the best part for me too!

I have one

As of yesterday, I now also do, but it's a second hand one from years ago

Mine has a B10 knot and is second hand. While waiting for the opportunity to spend the kind of money that Scott wants for a brush, I contacted Jannick Wald. Never looked back. Jannick’s quality of workmanship is unrivaled imo.
