There's a new version of Lemmy available (0.9.10). It attempts to fix the longstanding "Language" problem, where users without English selected in their options couldn't see posts tagged as "English" (which is why this instance has language set to "Undetermined"). Although, reading now, it seems like it was people's browsers that blocked English posts if their system is set to anything other than English. Who knows.

Another thing the update will do is enable English for all users.

I'm still trying to figure out how it's going to work after updating, and won't update for a little while probably. The language stuff seems pretty straight forward but I want to make sure it's not going to cause confusion for anyone.

I assume that the language selection will eventually get corrected. A feature I would really like to see is notifications. Otherwise, the Lemmy experience is so much more pleasant for me than Reddit is these days.

If you add your email to your profile, you can enable "Send notifications to Email".

Some sort of push notification to your phone would be nice, though.

Thank you! Not sure how I missed that. I already had my email in my profile.
