Original Title: TIL Mount Rushmore was named after Charles E. Rushmore, a New York attorney who visited the Black Hills in 1885. When he asked workers the mountain’s name, they joked it had none and said they’d name it after him. The name stuck, and it became official in 1930.

Unreal, one fucked up mountain wasn’t enough?? Still, this one being in response to rushmore and at least started by a First Nations dude makes it slightly less disgusting imo
