Dog owners' tolerance for being attacked by dogs: LOW

Cat owners' tolerance for being attacked by cats: HIGH

Being attacked by a cat is annoying, not potentially lethal. Also cats don't usually attack without reason. If a cat keeps attacking for "no reason" that's learned behaviour. Their instinct is to run away from humans, which is what wild and feral cats do unless cornered.

I mean, dog sized cat species exist and we don't keep them as pets with good reason.
