Because your intentionally tampering with food which is felony. You get a 15 second laugh, and then the person you pranked can turn around and get you sent a prison for up to 15 years and $10,000 in fines.

Sure, they deserved it, but it ain't worth going to prison over.

Mate, you're acting like I'm defending the ethical morality of this law.

See 18 U.S. Code § 1365.

It's why you see people telling people to not put hot peppers and laxatives in their work food in an effort to "punish" or "prank" other people.

I'm old enough to understand that people get in trouble all the time for breaking stupid laws. Maybe instead of attacking me, you should learn how "laws" work. It might save you from getting the shit sued out of you in the future.
