I sat in the room as my wife experienced the most brutal pain she has ever gone through. That woman has such a high pain tolerance that she scares me. And yet I felt sick just hearing her. The fact that they don’t anesthetize for this is criminal and fucking embarrassing as a society.
Even just some novocaine does wonders. I'm due a new one and I keep putting it off. I've had 3. One they gave me (fairly useless) paracetamol. I had one without anything and one with novocaine. Ironically the latter was my first (15 years ago!!). They seem to have gotten worse each time.
Paracetamol?! Not only would that be largely ineffective at preventing pain, it takes 30-60 minutes to start working. The incompetence astounds.
Apparently Misoprostol is sometimes given before to soften the cervix
And you're supposed to do it during your period
