Anyone who didn't vote for Harris contributes to this.

Why couldn't the democrats come up with a progressive candidate instead of making this a rightwing vs rightwing race? Aren't political parties supposed to make people want to vote for them?

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Both are true here.

Yeah the Democrats absolutely shit the bed, and still are. But also it was clear that this president was not willing to uphold the constitution, was corrupt and incompetent. If you didn't care enough to focus on stopping Trump you weren't taking the situation seriously.

I am not allowed to vote in the US, so you definitely can't blame it on me lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Sorry, meant you in the abstract. Not you specifically.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Blaming voters for the failings of a political party will never be a viable strategy.

The "protest voters" did not meaningfully impact the election.

If you beleive otherwise you are deepthroating propaganda meant to make us infight

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 month ago

You're honestly not wrong. But just like Reddit and IRL people here vote emotionally instead of rationally.

Things that divide us further are just distractions from class warfare, by keeping us at each other's throats with culture wars.

The real battle has always been class wars, and those in power maintain their positions by getting us peons to go at each other's throats instead of theirs.

Yes yes, voting for a right wing campaign calling unapologetically for the most lethal military while committing genocide is the moral choice that you made.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 month ago

You mean the Genocide that Trump DEFINITELY stopped? The one that DEFINITELY isn't still ongoing? That Genocide? Yeah that's what I thought. How's that boot leather taste?

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Morality exists in the context of the available options. We all wish there was a better choice. There wasn't. Deal with it and make the choice you need to like a real adult

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

There were no ethical or moral canidates on the 2024 ballot.

And it's not viable to blame voters for that.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Bullshit.

If you look at someone and go 'wow that dude's a nazi' and then the other person and you say 'wow I dont like some of her policies' then you vote against the fucking Nazi.

It's pretty simple. The fact that you, and multiple other people here simply refuse to admit this very simple thing baffles me.

The lesser of two evils is evil

I would have preferred Kamala too, but that would have just pushed the next trump back 4 years.

The only way we end the Duopoly is to end it.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Accellerationism is bullshit.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Aknowledging reality isn't accelerationism

The Democrats aren't interested in making positive change

The Democrats rubber stamped the bombs they gave to Isreal to genocide the Palestinians, same as the Republicans.

The two party system ends when a third party canidate gets elected.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Democrats have made multiple positive changes for people. You clearly don't pay attention.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I think treating symptoms is nice but they don't fix problems

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Sweet. Elect more progressive democrats so they can do more. You gonna seriously tell me that nothing is better than something?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Progressives aren't allowed on the ballot by the DNC

Not unless they have the time to make sure they will not be elected.

When one shows up on the ballot I'll vote for them

But we all know voting won't fix our system

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

and now people like you handed trump the office AGAIN, your part of the problem as much as non-voters, are protest voters are.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

Lol i voted for Kamala you idiot

Amazing how your ego prevents you from learning how things work even after 2016 and 2024

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

You’re not making sense, please elaborate. Are you agreeing or disagreeing?
