Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

arrest him

Please don't, if we make it to 2028 I don't want him to be the nominee.

Truly we should wait for the Perfect Opposition instead of having a Less Than Perfect candidate to lead against the fascist.

Having a candidate who will at least make a good faith effort to address the corruption underlying our politics is the bare minimum, and Newsom ain't it. He'd just put things on pause until the next fascist can gain power, like Biden did.

Your leftist hero is never emerging. You can not expect the system of corruption to birth a non corrupt candidate, and you are going to die waiting for them.

A "centrist" liberal trying to cater to Republicans has clearly been working well for everyone

You think Kamala would have sent the national gaurd to California against the governor's wishes?

I mean the dems are useless and probably wouldn't have accomplished too much, but we wouldn't be living in a fascist state and she would have probably at least have been trying to codify Roe v. Wade.

But now we have this instead so

Nobody in this comment thread has even insinuated that any Democrat would be this bad. I was talking about Newsom being a Democrat who wouldn't try to address the underlying issues that have made people open to fascism, and the other commenter was talking about centrist Democrats' apparent electoral weakness. You (and the other guy) are arguing with a straw man.

The comment I replied to seemed to be referencing how dems tried to pander to centrist and courted Liz Cheney of all people for Kamala's campaign.

I'm sorry this spawned off of your comment, but it seems entirely related to the comment I replied to.

No, I'm saying that the Dems are going to keep getting walloped at the polls until they start running actual reformers who are going to try and improve people's to lives. They keep sending putting forward the same messge for the past decade that clearly isn't working

If any kind of anti-corruption effort is a leftist dream, then yeah I guess we are fucked. Thanks for your contribution.
