Lemmy, and specifically Lemmy World, is allowing users to utilize an outside tool as described below to spy/harass/gang-up, and now trying to ban other users, all because the user 'go $fsck whatever' is rolling around meme sites using this on people who post AI memes? How is this allowed and why is it allowed? This is disturbing. Can someone riddle me this, how is this better than reddit? On reddit, people were fed up with the heavy censorship of mods/admins/corporate, but here the users are doxxing, try to censor other users via outside tools. As the old meme goes; These two "pictures" are the same.
You just outed another alt of yours, rodneyck. Congrats.
"doxxing"? Your arguments are unhinged. You're clearly here to try to harass me using alts and you're only upset because you were caught manipulating votes. Having things like votes and the modlogs public is the strength of Lemmy that prevents people like you from trying to manipulate the platform to your advantage.
Some instances defederated from lemvotes.org, which is why it doesn’t work on them. I’d like to know why lemmy.world hasn’t done it.
When you come across vote manipulation, I think the thing to do is report them to the mods/admins and let them handle it.
What benefit is there in doing so? If you have the resources, anyone can spin up a federated instance and gain access to the same information that is available to admins and mods. This just makes it more accessible. People could even just use an instance of this Lemvotes tool.
Personally, I think the vote information should be public to all users inherently. This is a perfect example of why.
Yeah that is a good question. The thing is with the moderators, some of them are afraid of this [fck AI] group. I guess they can really take down an instance, community, swarms? We we see. I think it needs to be dealt with at a Lemmy World level.
