Books are incredible, for some reason i'm really struggling to vibe with the show. I always pictured murderbot as some hulking master chief/space marine intimidating beefcastle, thats why the humour worked so well because he's so awkward. Also I don't remember the scientists being absolute hippies. I like the show just fine but a few tweaks here and there could have made it great. I think the books had my expectations for the show too high.
