Based on why I've heard it seems they use the word to be a synonym of the word "paradox" (?)

But according to the dictionary, inception means commencement or beginning or initiation.

What is their definition of the word "Inception" in the movie?

The word means to begin, or maybe to be inserted. In the context of the movie, they are inserting ideas into someone's head in a way that the person thinks it's their own. If someone were to be shown something that provokes a thought, that is inspiration but not inception. In order to achieve inception, they must not know the idea comes from somewhere else.
