Well, could always spend some of the money wasted on exchange rate manipulation on food subsidies instead. But I think just making the transition more gradual would be my bet
So I think this was Milei's idea. They devaluated the money, not making it free floating, but closer to its real value, while doubling subsidies to the poorest. There were two subsidies, one that is money for each child, and the other one is like a basic income for food.
