Now there's a giant, bright, tiktok ad at the top of every post yet this client still can't support redgifs after months. I jumped on the sync hype train, where should I get off?

Better at the bottom of the screen? That way it wouldn't need to reserve the space.

I mean, that would be better, but I think it would be better to have it only in the main feed as it used to :)
