try tree style tab or sidebery

I like tree tabs, but I hate that you can't easily get rid of the tabs on top, I want vertical tabs and no horizontal ones

Here is what I use for vertical tabs that might fit your needs.

you just need to modify the userChrome.css. is one of the first things i do after installing ff
