Genocide Joe will be continued to be voted for and praised by Americans who call themselves "progressive", "liberal" or believe they have any "values" while politically approving of genocide.

The sad truth is that the court has no means to enforce its rulings. It relies on governments to be lawful and responsible and on people to demand that of their governments. However the majority of people in countries that still support the genocide are either themselves pro genocide or believe that genocide is in any way acceptable.

Future generations will look at our generation and consider us in the same category as the German Nazis, their supporters and those ignorant of their crimes.

Progressives clearly are not happy with Biden about his Israel stance so claiming progressives support genocide is clearly rage bait nonsense. He is absolutely not doing a good job reining Israel in, but what exactly do you expect progressives to do? Vote for Trump? Not vote at all? Either way the result would be much worse genocide.

[–] juicy@lemmy.today 4 points 10 months ago

Who cares what's in their heart? It's their actions that matter.

[–] Semi-Hemi-Demigod@kbin.social 16 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I hate Biden and hate that I have to vote for him. Future generations are definitely going to hate us.

[–] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 11 points 10 months ago (1 children)

That's our burden for failing to put pressure on primarying him - we should do better next time.

At this point voting for Biden is, however, the only responsible action.

Except we primary him and we either lose and get blamed for when he loses, or watch our progressive challenger lose because the rest of the country hates him.

America isn't nearly as progressive as us Internet weirdos think it is.

Lots of pipe dreams on Lemmy, it's kind of sad to see people so disconnected from reality.

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

It's not "pipe dreams" as much as it is "complete fantasy purposefully peddled by actual Russian misinformation actors".

Literally.

Check out for instance @archcomrade [he/him] @midwest.social

I even got banned there for pointing out how clearly he's an actual Russian troll. He doesn't even deny it and you can see he isn't American, yet literally all he does is post "don't vote biden".

This juicy guy isn't much different

[–] fuckingkangaroos@lemm.ee 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I agree 100%, glad you see it too. Hopefully we can help spread awareness because the US government seems to be flat-footed.

I find it helpful to tag shills so I can easily recognize them later.

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Hopefully we can help spread awareness

My cynicism says no.

But I hope that's just a mental thing, and I'll continue to act as if I'm wrong about it.

I find it helpful to tag shills so I can easily recognize them later

Me too buddy.

[–] fuckingkangaroos@lemm.ee 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I tagged you with 👌🏼

Good luck out there

Genocide Joe will be continued to be voted for

No, that's actually the main problem other than the genocide itself: his stubborn insistence on actively contributing to the genocide is making it more and more likely that he's going to lose to a fascist who'll continue doing that AND be worse about just about everything else.

[–] TokenBoomer@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Oh careful. I've been having comments removed for suggesting we stop voting for Democrats.

[–] TokenBoomer@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

Judging from Biden’s poll numbers and approval rating, it’s Joever. He’s lost too many voters that will not return. So, vote for him if you want, I intend to. But I don’t think it matters.

[–] Bipta@kbin.social 11 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Anyone saying "genocide Joe" betrays their inability to think three feet in front of their face.

And I say this fully aware Israel is committing genocide and crimes against humanity.

[–] blunderworld@lemmy.ca 9 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (2 children)

If you're American, can I ask who you plan to vote for instead? The way I see it, there isn't really a preferable option.

[–] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Well there's the guy with brain rot... or the guy with literal brain rot from a worm. They're both obviously better for Palestinians. /s

[–] fuckingkangaroos@lemm.ee 5 points 10 months ago

Netanyahu named a community after Trump and these "genocide Joe" idiots are going to get him elected again. It's exactly what Netanyahu wants.

Also what the Kremlin wants, if anyone is able to care about something other than the single issue anonymous social media accounts got them riled up about.

[–] Tryptaminev@lemm.ee 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Did you consider doing more than just voting? Like pushing the democrats to stop supporting genocide?

[–] blunderworld@lemmy.ca 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] Tryptaminev@lemm.ee 2 points 10 months ago

Because you are expecting a high school math exam to be solved with addition and substraction in the space between 1 and 10.

Voting in November alone is not going to solve anything. You need to apply pressure now. You need to go demonstrate, call your representatives, meet with them, demand them to end the genocide... And all of this only works if you can back up your demand by making clear that they need to work for your voice and they will not be handled it on a silver plate no matter what.
