Netanyahu's government was elected democratically, thus, yes, it represents YOU! A Russian person can say that Putin's dictatorship doesn't represent them, but not you.
There are more Jews that are not Israeli than Jews that are. So no, Netanyahu doesn't represent Jews like me. I was born and raised in Indiana. I don't speak or read Hebrew. I have no interest in going to Israel apart from the archaeology and I certainly don't support them.
But to people like you, I am culpable for Israel's genocide because of the big nose and the curly hair.

I got circumcised by a rabbi. I had a bar mitzvah. My ancestors were Jewish as far back as I can trace (including the ones killed in the Holocaust because they were Jews.). I am entirely steeped in Jewish culture. I am a Jew. You don't get to tell me I'm not. That's not up to you.

"Jew" isn't a nationality dumbass, it's an ethnicity and a religion (rather, a group of ethnicities and religions that share common cultural aspects). Do you think that Israel just suddenly became the owner of Judaism after Nakba or something, and all the other Jewish ethnicities disappeared?

It looks like you don't know what sarcasm is – I was emphasizing how it's basic knowledge you should already know... I shouldn't have to tell you that "Jew" and "American" aren't mutually exclusive in the slightest, and that Israel doesn't represent Jews (Israel's population is also not homogenously Jewish, despite non-Jews legally being second-class humans and not having the same rights). There are more Jews in the NY Metro Area than in Tel Aviv... out of the 10 cities populated with the most Jews in the world, there are only 3 Israeli cities.
You're extraordinarily ignorant of the world outside of your little bubble if you think Israel – a land founded mostly by antisemitic Europeans (cough Br*tish), who wanted equally European Jews outside of Europe, leaving those white European Jews to colonize Palestine and genocide the local population for a century – is representative of Jews, or anyone who is not Israeli for that matter. Hell, they don't even represent a full quarter of their own population. Maybe you should pick up a history book, or a book on demographics... ones not made by Zionists and western imperialists.

When you feel you have the right to define the identity of others, which they clearly do based on their response to me, I think "everybody else is wrong" when you're constantly disagreed with with is viewed validating their claim.

I hate how 50% of the users here on lemmy are all about questioning the medias coverage and support of Israel but blindly cling to the other side. Hamas has been elected too and you can't possibly think they are doing the right thing. Finally, things are not black and white. Both Hamas and the Israelian goverment commit horrific crimes and the population suffers. Blaming the people in this context would be laughable if it weren't so sad.
More than half of the people currently living in Gaza weren't at voting age when Hamas was voted in 18 years ago. Meanwhile Israel had 9 elections in that timeframe. Also if you look at polls Israelis who are critical of Netanyahu still mostly support genocide and ethnic cleansing. They are just unhappy with how Netanyahu is managing it.

Which i do not dispute at all. I just refuted the "Hamas was voted hurr durr" propaganda argument, which often comes in conjunction with "well the Israeli government isn't the Israeli people durr hurr", which the voting proves to be wrong too.
While Israelis arent representative of Jews in general, the Israeli government and the current genocide is representative of the current Israeli population.

To be pedantic. Moses was not the leader of Judaism. In fact the term "Israelites" derives from Jacob Israel son of Isaac, son of Abraham. Abrahams other son was Ismael who is the father of the Arabs who mostly turned to the Abrahamic Religion with the Prophet Mohamed s.a.s. As for the descendants of Isaac they had many phases of having more or less on leader or being separately lead tribes, like the famous twelve tribes at the time Moses freed them from the Pharaoh. And if we look at the Torah they weren't exactly happy with Moses spiritual leadership. Either way Moses was only a short period in a time spanning thousands of years.
Only if OP is a citizen of Israel.
