The only real defense would be them not being called stormtroopers in the German translations, which I suppose is possible.

While I agree that Star Wars is indeed a serious matter and not to be taken lightly, it is, in fact, fiction.
And "Psycho Killer" is just a song. But if I see a guy wearing a hog's face as a mask and brandishing a giant meat clever walking towards me while singing it, maybe I feel a little uncomfortable.
