I'm limited by my ether port and switch to Gigabit, usually ~950 Mbps, but I can get ~1100 Mbps, which is the ISPs limit, over WiFi. So if you only have Gigabit ethernet components, but a bit over Gigabit internet, WiFi can be faster. Not nearly as stable, though.
