Ive never heard anyone say that its ethical for someone to be a billionaire if they are Gabe Newel.

Ive heard people say they like steam and would prefer to do business with a non-enshittified private company.

Our government should be doing stuff like this for everybody. These are the taxes i want to pay

Maybe it will end up under different ownership through time. Meta has a lot of cash though... probably not going anywhere.

Its just confusing to me because lemmy is made to give anyone their preferred corner.

Asking for low barrier to the largest instances (entry points for new users) seems like a different ask than for professional lemmings to give up their platform.

Whenever barrier to entry is discussed for lemmy, and reducing confusion for different servers is brought up, all of the isolationist comments come out of the woodwork.

Apparently redditors who are too dumb to register should stay on reddit?

We have a platform that seems to be working and slowly growing. Shouldnt we want good defaults in place to give the best possible experience with minimal user effort?

"We'll be continuing to talk to him about what he has access to"

Thats what you do before you give them access. Who is she and what is her position of authority? Something tells me i dont want to know.

Its poking fun at the fact that nvidia is heavily pushing ai generated frame and upscaling to give better performance but many people hate this because it makes reaction times muddy and other artifacting things, and that the poor improvement of performance from the 4000 series cards is being dowbplayed (esepcially for how much they are charging for these cards)

This image is a stock chart of them going down, and the poster is joking that its performance is not as bad as it looks if you use their upscaling technology.

The depreciation in their stock is related to ai valuation dipping down across the indistry china released a free ai chatbot that rivals openai quality at a fraction of the cost and without needing nvidia gpus, leaving investors maybe wondering what all of this money is for, and if huge ai related companies will just be undercut by smaller organizations.

As ai companies move towards making ai agents specialized at certain tasks, we will soon see if huge companies like openai and nvidia will show us why they are worth their current valuations. The time is coming to see some results from the research and development of these companies. They cant just say they have the most important tech in their hands if they dont convert it to value. I think some really cool stuff will come out and i think this anxiety should drive them to compete more. I like this.

Either buy more expensive shirts or stop buying creatine if you want to stop ripping them

Any guesses if this is automated stupidity or a strategic stance by Meta?

So if people made shirts of musk nazi salute and wore them around, would they get kicked out of places? Like the DMV or any government office?
