Al-Bursh was also remembered for his efforts during the Great March of Return in 2018-19, when he performed over 28 surgeries in one day on Palestinians injured by Israeli fire.
2018? I thought this all started on October 7.

A community for discussing events around the World
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF 10/19
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Israel has been killing Palestinians for a lot longer than 6 months.
Oct 7, 1912 maybe.
This just in: Israel hates doctors that help its victims too.
So I guess Israel hates the number 42 too.
They are by far the least hoopy froods we’ve seen since the 1940s
Definitely
Nazisreal is literally worse than Russia.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Russo-Ukrainian_War
If you want to discuss a per capita assumption of guilt for war crimes you can but maybe you should consider not?
Two things can be unforgivable.
Nobody here is forgiving Russia.
Mhmm. That's why you made sure to compare one to the Nazis and not the other, instead of condemning both for their fascistic policies and crimes.
Like Russia has never tortured political "enemies" to death, lol.
No it's not.
Are you being paid to say this? Seems like you're just trying to distract from criticism of Nazisreal.
That guy: what Israel did is unforgivable
You: you are paid shill!
You ever stop and think about what you say?
Lol, what? That's not at all what happened.
I'm guessing you're on his side, which is why you're trying to distort reality.
Gonna block you too, buddy.
It's all there in this very thread.
No what is not?
That’s why[...]
No it's not. You are wrong about your assumption.
Anyways, I'm gonna block you. I'm getting really weird shill-vibes from this conversation. I think you're just going to keep replying until I stop, so you may have the last word.
Goodbye.
Lol
How do they know that he was tortured to death if Israel hasn't released the body or any information? There are a lot of claims being made in this article but I can't find any sources to back them up.
He was in good health before israel kidnapped him, a doctor, from Gaza and killed him.
They also tortured him before. And possibly tortured him to death this time.
So it's purely based on speculation.
No he has been killed in Israeli jail. This is confirmed. And he has been tortured so that too.
Maybe you can ask israel to release the body. Then we can check if has been tortured to death which he very likely has been
The only things that are confirmed are that he was in jail and that he is now deceased. The article makes a lot of assumptions on what exactly happened and presents them as facts.
Wait so the body hasn't been released? How do we know he was tortured? I'm not saying he wasn't, but what are the sources on this?
He was tortured before according to witnesses.
He is dead according to israel.
If israel wants to disprove this they can release the body of the person they killed.
I'm not saying that it's not true. It's very likely. But if evidence comes out that none of this is true it ends up giving points to the IDF and we don't want to give more ammunition to Israel. We should be cautious about how we share information. That's all.
This doctor was in good health when he was kidnapped. There are two options: he spontaneously suffered a heart attack or they tortured him to death. And as they refuse to release the body, you know how the saying about Jeffrey Epstein goes.
Or can you think of another reason why israel is holding his body hostage?
