Hey there. Someone who was alive and voting during the Clinton administration. Obama and biden were effectively well left of Clinton. Harris looks to be in the same range.
Considering that, I'm more concerned about what an administration does over what it says. Platforms are handy. And to pretty much any actual leftist the death penalty is abhorrent and ineffective. For us, removing it seems like an unforced error. But the Democrats are a coalition party. Not a monolithic ideological one. And there are receptive groups that don't necessarily agree. They're wrong. But it's their right to be wrong. If this is a tweak to messaging but policy continues to reduce and eliminate it wherever it can be. It isn't perfect, nothing is. But it is positive change. If they embrace and start pushing it in an attempt to reach brainwashed single issue voters. Then we'll have a problem to worry about. Till then stay observant and help where you can to help push through better more Progressive and left-leaning candidates in the primaries.
