From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

I’m interested in switch from Windows to Linux. I am brand new to Linux, so please suggest the path of least resistance for a gaming-oriented build.

I play Fortnite with my daughter regularly and run some steam games (Counter-strike: source, God of War).

Will I have an okay time setting this up, and will I have good compatibility with these games? I don’t mind a little extra setup to get this working.

What is the upkeep with Linux like? Will I be constantly updating/fixing? Windows has been temperamental, and I’m curious as to the ease of management for my needs once it’s set up.

Thank you all in advance!
